    Company Tax Return

This tax is paid by the companies registered under company law on the net profit that it makes business from. If the individual operates their business as a company, then the individual is mandated to file a company tax return.

The company has to report its taxable income, tax offsets and credits, and PAYG installments. The amount of tax is liable to pay on that income or the amount that is refundable. This income will be considered as a company income that is separate from the personal income of the individual.

Due Date of Filing the Tax Return – When to file?

If the individual’s company qualifies as a Large or a Medium taxpayer, then the company tax return is due on the 15th of January.

The taxpayer must lodge their final company tax return before being deregistered by the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC). Once a company has been deregistered, the taxpayer will no longer be able to lodge a company tax return.

To lodge a company tax return the individual has to reinstall their deregistered company in ASIC.
